Graham joined the Association as the inaugural president of the Western Australian branch, when it was formed in May 1972, and also started the WA branch publication 'Branchline' as editor. He is also an honorary life member, a thirty year member, holds a meritorious award, and is a founder member of the SN 3-1/2" group. He is still an active member of this group to keep alive the WAGR history of Western Australia in modelling. Graham's knowledge of the Western Australian branch, its history, its members, and his commitment to the club and to the WAGR group has held him in high esteem among the current members.
Some of Graham's attributes include, that he is always there to listen to any problems that any modeller can come up with and give them guidance to the best possible solution, and the commitment and guidance that he gives the SN 3-1/2" group to keep alive the WAGR history. It is a credit to his ability to have all the answers readily available.
In addition to his membership of AMRA, Graham is an honorary life member of the WA branch of the Australian Railway Historical Society. He has been extensively involved with the archives and library of the ARHS and AMRA has benefitted from information that Graham has made available to us. We are fortunate that he continues on a regular basis to update our database and is an active promoter of modelling WA narrow gauge railways. The SN 3-1/2 modelling group within AMRA WA branch owes much of its popularity to Graham and a few like-minded souls.
He moved to his present address some years ago when a house became available that backed onto the railway.
Graham is the driving force behind Rail West Models and produced the kit for the WA 'G' class locomotive. He also does silastic moulds for items that are needed to make WAGR wagons in S scale. He has taught many of our members how to build wagons and locos and as well as making his own layout has helped many others build their's. He is also involved with club layout building and maintenance.
He is the author of articles that have appeared in AMRM and the British modelling press and never ceases to promote the hobby. His involvement and dedication have made him known to modellers throughout Australia.
