The Australian Model Railway Association Incorporated offer you the opportunity to join the Association by filling out an online application form and then paying for your new membership using Paypal. Paypal is a safe/secure payment system owned by the popular auction site eBay which offers the necessary interface to allow us to correctly match each payment received with the appropriate application details (a facility not offered by the Australian bank credit card processors).
Depending on the membership type that you are applying for the information that we require will differ. All of the information that we require will be collected before you are transferred to Paypal to make your payment. A summary of the collected information will then be displayed so that you can check it before you pay.
Note that these pages assume that you live in Australia. We are happy to accept membership applications from outside of Australia however if you wish to pay for that membership using Paypal you will need to contact the Registrar for instructions on how to proceed.
To be able to pay online you will need to open a Paypal account if you do not already have one. Paypal will give you the opportunity to do this once you reach that stage of the application process. When you first open a Paypal account you will need to provide Paypal with either your credit card or bank account details. AMRA will not be provided with this information as Paypal acts as an intermediate party to the financial transaction. Many overseas hobby shops also accept Paypal and so you will be able to use the same Paypal account to purchase hobby items from overseas without needing to supply your financial details separately to each shop.
The amount currently payable for AMRA membership through to 31/8/2011 is $63.00 for senior membership, $68.00 for senior + family membership, and $30.00 for student membership (inclusive of applicable joining fees).
