Exhibition Flyers

The Australian Model Railway Association has been holding exhibitions for many years in a number of different states. These exhibitions are hosted by the various state branches. The following flyers were used by the New South Wales Branch to advertise some of their exhibitions.

NSW Branch 1971 Exhibition Flyer

The NSW Exhibition was first held at Burwood Police Citizen's Boys Club in 1962 but moved to the Sydney Lower Town Hall the following year where it continued to be held for many years. The 1971 exhibition was officially opened by Mr N McCusker the Commissioner for New South Wales Railways.

The 1973 and 1974 exhibitions were also held at the lower town hall.

NSW Branch 1977 Exhibition Flyer

The 1977 was the last exhibition to be held at the lower town hall and also the last to be held in conjunction with the Waratah Festival. By this time the popularity of the exhibition was exceeding the capacity of the town hall to hold all of the stands and to allow members of the public to properly view the exhibits.

In 1978, a move was made to the Royal Agricultural Society showground and this exhibition was held in the Westco pavillion. The exhibition was still crowded but the advantage of the showground was that there was more than one pavillion available. From 1979 onwards the exhibition used both the Westco pavillion and the adjacent Ford pavillion.

By 1983 even the two pavillions at the showground were becoming crowded. Rather than using yet a third pavillion, a decision was made to find a larger site and the 1984 exhibition was the first held at the then new EG. Whitlam Centre at Liverpool where the NSW Branch continued to hold their exhibitions up until 2004. The following three exhibitions were held at Hurstville with the exhibition returning to the Whitlam Centre again in 2009.
