These awards will not be given just for the asking. You will have to win these awards and the "You've Struck Gold" award has been set up so as to be particularly hard to win (not that the "Great Site" award will be that easy to win either).
Sites that are to be considered for these awards will be scored in four area - construction 20%, navigation 20%, design 30%, and
content 30%.
This criteria was revised on 1st
January, 2003.
The point scoring is (for the most part) based on fairly precise and objective requirements which are set out on the scoring pages so that you can judge for yourself how your site can be expected to score. Please do not submit your site unless you feel that you have at least a reasonable chance of meeting this criteria.
Maximum points for each criteria are indicated by the numbers shown in bold preceding each description.
A site will be judged in one of the four areas at a time (usually in the order listed). If the site gets a no score at any time, drops more than 10 points in a single area, or drops more than 20 points in total then that web site will not be judged in subsequent areas.
Sites obtaining a score of 80 or over will receive the AMRA 'Great Site' award.
A maximum of one site per month will be presented with the "You've struck Gold" award. The site to be presented with the award must have a score of at least 91, sites scoring lower than this will not be considered for this award. All eligible sites not previously presented with this award (including those already considered in previous months) may be judged for this award. AMRA reserve the right to determine which sites will be considered for this award and any site that might otherwise be considered eligible for this award may be omitted from consideration with no reason needing to be specified.
Should your site be unfortunate enough not to win one of these awards, we ask that you not resubmit your site again unless significant changes have been made to the site (or we change the criteria for the award).
